As our site grows, we're learning
more about you, our readers. And being the open, honest, upfront
kind of people we are, we're going to share some of this info with
anyone who cares to read it.
Note that the traffic on Microwaves101
continues to grow exponentially, with page views doubling every
6 months. The stats shown here may be out of data depending on when
you read this...
The most important measure of
web site popularity is "page views." That's what
the counters on our pages are counting. As of October 2004 we're
getting over 2000 page views per weekday, or 50,000 per month. Here's
a chart showing the page views generated for a week in February
2004:

You can see that Saturday and
Sunday are not big Microwaves101 days.
Another interesting
statistic counts "visits"--that is, one person
looking at any of the pages on our site in one session. A session
starts when you first open any Microwaves101 page, and doesn't end
until you leave our site or close the browser window. Visit information
tells us how long you look at the site, which pages you visit, and
in which order. As of October 2004 we get around 600 unique visits
per day, close to 15,000 per month. At any given time you can expect
four or more people visiting the site simultaneously.
Here's a chart, also from February
2004, that shows visit by continent (welcome, Oceania and South
American visitors!) By the way, we have some viewers in Africa,
but the server supplies graphs on the "top five continents".
Sometimes you have to wonder about the people writing this software,
why wouldn't you just plot all of the continents?

This next chart shows how which
browser languages each of our visitors used that same week:

That's seven Polish visitors,
four Finnish, three French, and two Germans. Sehr gut!
