Microwave Events Calendar

Updated May 4, 2010

Click here to go to our page on the IEEE-MTTS.

Microwave events are given in chronological order below. We update this page once or twice a year, so our apologies if the data are slightly out of date...

ATTENTION EVENT ORGANIZERS! If you are organizing an event that is relevant to microwave engineers, send us a note and we'll add it to this calendar. Send us a hundred bucks cash and we'll add it in bold letters!

IEEE Wireless Week, January 16-20, 2011

This conference runs concurrently with two workshops.

Wireless Week - Phoenix, Arizona

Power Amplifier Symposium - San Diego, California

Silicon Monolithic Integrated Circuits in RF Systems (SiRF) - San Diego California

(the 2011 SIRF website is not up yet...)

IEEE International Solid State Circuits Conference, February 20-24, 2011

From their web site:

The International Solid-State Circuits Conference is the foremost forum for presentation of advances in solid-state circuits and systems-on-a-chip. The Conference offers a unique opportunity for engineers working at the cutting edge of IC design and use to maintain technical currency, and to network with leading experts.

IEEE ISSCC - San Francisco California

IMAPS packaging conference, March 8-11, 2010

This is the fifth year of the IMSPS device packaging conference. It's held at a resort in Arizona, bring your golf shoes and "go green" and rent some sticks. If you're on government per diem, you'll be purchasing your own meals! The "M" in IMAPS should stand for "marketing", this is not an IEEE-type event.

IMAPS Device Packaging Conference - Phoenix, Arizona

GomacTech 2009, March 16-19, 2010

Possibly the coolest symposium for defense types, the Government Microcircuit Applications and Critical Technologies Conference audience is restricted to U.S. citizens only. For 2010 it will be held in Reno Nevada.

Gomac Tech 2010 - Reno Nevada

ARMMS Microwave conference, April 19-20, November 22-23, 2010

Conference details have not been updated for 2009... the Automated RF and Microwave Measurement Society has a conference twice a year in the U.K., once in April and once in November. Approximately 15 papers are presented over a two-day period. ARMMS provides past papers on their web site for downloading. From their web site:

The original aims of the society have expanded over the years as instrumentation has become more automated and we now cover diverse topics in Radio and Radar design and test, metrology, medical, materials testing etc.

ARMMS April 2010

ARMMS November 2010

IEEE RFID 2010, April 14-15

The IEEE International Conference on RFID is dedicated to addressing the technical and policy challenges in the areas of radio frequency identification (RFID) technologies, their supporting large-scale distributed information systems, and their applications.

IEEE International Conference on RFID - Orlando, Florida

CS MANTECH 2010, May 17-20

Here's their mission statement (we copied from their website!)

GaAs MANTecH is a not-for-profit organization whose focus is to provide a forum for members of the compound semiconductor community to exchange and discuss new ideas to better serve the public in general.

CS MANTECH, meaning compound semi, was once called GaAs MANTECH, which is the name used in their web site. This organization posts their material on line for free downloading, unlike the IEEE, so you can learn what your competitors are bragging about.

CS MANTECH - Portland, Oregon

Sarnoff Symposium, April 12-14, 2010

The IEEE Sarnoff Symposium has been around since 1978, presenting information on the latest developments in communication systems, microwave technology and multimedia applications. Equally important, it's held at the historic Nassau Inn in Princeton, NJ - a beautiful venue, particularly in the spring.

Sarnoff Symposium - Princeton, New Jersey

IEEE RadarCon, May 10-14, 2010

This international conference is held in Washington DC this year.

IEEE RadarCon 2010 - Washington DC

IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium, May 23-28, 2010

IMS is the biggest annual meeting by far of microwave types, it runs concurrently with IEEE's RFIC Symposium. This year these conferences are in California, near Disney Land.

IEE IMS 2010 - Anaheim, California

Click here to go to the Microwaves101 page on the IEEE Microwave Theory and Technique Society (MTT-S).

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Symposium, July 11-17, 2010

The IEEE antenna and propagation society is meeting Toronto, Canada this year.

IEEE AP-S - Toronto, Canada

RFID World, October 12-15, 2008

RFID World held their conference in 2008 in Dallas.

RFID World - Dallas, Texas

European Microwave Week, September 26-October 1, 2010

As always, the best boondoggle on this page would be to go to EuMW2010. This is actually four conferences on different microwave topics, including wireless, radar, and integrated circuits.

European Microwave Week 2010 - Paris France

IEEE CSIC Symposium, October 3-6, 2010

The Compound Semiconductor IC symposium used to be called the GaAs IC Symposium, but we all know that GaAs is not the only compound semi out there. So renaming it the "sea-sick" symposium is a big improvement, right? This conference is truly for semiconductor nerds only (we mean that in a good way, Nick!) This conference seems to be dwindling in attendance, once it starts to lose money we expect the IEEE to kill it off.

IEEE CS - Monterey, California

Association of Old Crows Convention, October 3-6, 2010

Old Crows are a group of people that are interested in electronic warfare. They hold many conferences on different topics throughout the year, but the main convention is in October.

AOC Convention - Atlanta, Georgia

Microwave Update 2010

Microwave Update (MUD), the nation's most popular, amateur radio-focused microwave and millimeter wave experimentation technical conference will be held at the Sheraton Cerritos Hotel from October 21 through 24, 2010, in Cerritos, California.

Each year, the MUD attracts attendees from all over the world to discuss the latest technical developments and operating achievements in amateur experimentation on the 1,000 MHz and up frequencies.

Microwave Update - Cerritos, California

International Microelectronics and Packaging Society, October 31-November 4, 2010

The IMAPS conference is a good bet if you're looking for ideas for next-generation packaging of microwave hardware.

IMAPS 2010 - Raleigh, North Carolina

IEEE International Electron Device Meeting, December xx-yy, 2010

Conference details not updated for 2010...

IEDM 2010 - where?

Asia Pacific Microwave Conference, December 7-10, 2010

You'd be surprised at the stuff you can learn at this conference, even if you only speak English. Note that the 2010 conference, held in Japan, starts on Pearl Harbor Day!

APMC 2010 - Yokohama, Japan
