RECENT ADVANCES in MICROWAVE
INTEGRATED CIRCUITS-AICTE sponsored Faculty Development Programme-
NIT-Trichy-July 13th 17th.
Electronics and Communication
Engineering department has planned a week long workshop for the
Engineering college Professes handling Microwave courses and for
the researchers carrying out core during July 13 to 17th in NIT-T.
The radio frequency course sponsored by AICTE, Delhi aims to bring
awareness in the topics computational methods, numerical techniques,
fabrication methodology, BioMEMS, smart antenna, wimax, wifi,
Microwave fundamentals, carbon nano tube, metameterials, biological
effect of microwaves, recent research in coplanar waveguides unconventional
and special antennas.
The notable topics "biological
effect of microwaves" and "Microwaves in Medicine"
'are going to be handled with demonstration by Dr.Sankaranarayanan
(STEM cell expert and DENTIST), DR.S.Sendhil vel murugan, Radiologist,
K.A.P.V.Medical college and Hospital (TELERADIOLOGY) and Dr.Lashminarayanan(Laparoscopic
Surgeon and Virtual lab expert).
Prof.Alphonse Arokiasamy,
the Professor , Nnayong Technical University
(NTU) Singapore and the reviewer 'Antenna and Propagation 'journal
will be handling 'Metameterials' The pioneer in antenna research
and the top scientist Engineer DR.P.H.Rao of SAMEER (Society for
Applied Microwave Engineering and Educational Research), Chennai
is going to present "research topics of unconventional antenna
and Design methodology".
Prof.S.Raghavan, Microwave
engineering in charge, NIT-T, Prof.Sriramkumar will be talking
on BioMEMS and SMART ANTENNA respectively. Cell phone possessing
in wrong places (shirt pocket and Belt pouches) is highly harmful
especially to men. The same will be explained by Dr.S.Raghavan
and also by Prof.Shyam Sundar Pattnaik, Professor and Head, NITTTR,
Chandigarh Dr.P.Mohanan and Dr.S.Mirudula of Cochin University
of Science and Technology (CUSAT), cochin will be highlighting
'Numerical techniques for Microwave Integrated Circuits' and "Fundamental
concepts of Microwave Engineering" respectively. S.P.Chakraborty
of IIT-Delhi will be explaining the M.I.C.fabrication techniques
with the relevant gadgets and chemicals. Scientist Engineer of
ISRO, Bangalore Sc.Er.V.Mahadevan has planned to show the LAUNCHING
methods and ground support methodology.
The recent research in Microwave
Integrated Circuits will be explained withy the journal papers
by the research scholars and M.S. (by research scholars. Shri.Shanmughanantham,
Thiruvalar selevan, Jagajothi, Srijith, Vidyalakshmi Ravi.)
The workshop to be organized
for the first time in south India are supported and encouraged
by the Director M.Chidambaram and the H.O.D. Dr.B.Venkataramani.
Present day communication
technology would not have come to this level but for Microwave
Integrated Circuits and the aim of the workshop is to bring AWARENESS
among the faculty members and also to remove theatrical AVERSION
CREATED in the minds about this subject of Electromagnetic theory.
LAST DATE for applying is
July 10th. The details of the workshop can be found in the institute
website (www.nitt.edu). It is open for the AICTE approved ENGINEERING
COLLEGE FACULTY MEMBERS handling MICROWAVE engineering.
