The Unknown Editor recently gave a talk to engineering students at the University of Arizona. With his normal off-the-cuff delivery and rakish charm, the UE entertained and enlightened most of the attendees. Only one was caught snoring...

In the interests of recycling perfectly good content with the minimum amount of effort, we present the slides that he showed that night as this month's column. Here are a few helpful hints to help generationally/culturally challenged individuals (like kids under 20) follow a few of the references: Hedy LaMarr was a well-known actress in the 1940s who was considered extremely glamorous, Larry Flynt owns and runs a huge X-rated publishing and "entertainment" empire.
