This tool allows you to cascade two files of vector S-parameters, for example, an amplifier and a bandpass filter. Network A will be at the input of the cascade and Network B will be at the output. Click “Choose file” for network A and “choose file”, browse for the desired file and click to open it. Then do the same for Network B. The contents of the files will be displayed as scrollable tables so that you can inspect the header and numerical data. Then click “Calculate”. The resulting cascaded circuit data appears numerically, in both MA and DB format, you can download either one. The downloaded file will be named cascadeResult.S2P, be sure to rename it. The tool also generates a Smith chart plot of S11 and S22, and a plot of the magnitudes of all four S-parameters: S11, S21, S12 and S22.

Notes:

  • Both S-parameter files must have identical frequencies in identical order
  • S-parameter files must be in either the "MA" or "DB" format and data lines must be tab or space delimited
  • "!" (comment) or blank rows within the S-parameter data rows are ignored
  • Active circuits should have noise parameter data removed or commented out
