One of the most interesting events at IMS (IEEE MTT's annual microwave industry conference) is the Three Minute Thesis 3MT® competition, originally developed by The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia. The goal is for students to deliver a presentation on their current research in just three minutes, and with only one slide. They're judged on how engaging, accessible, and compelling they made their presentation.
As a sampling of the creativity and range of the projects, here are the three highest-scoring presentations from the 2022 conference. You can find these and many more over on the MTTIMS YouTube channel.
"Enabling Mobile Material Evaluation" by Alexander Possberg, University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany
"Which Way is Up?" by Ajibayo Adeyeye, Georgia Institute of Technology
“Ultrafast Light-based Spectrogram” by Connor Rowe, Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS), Montréal, Québec, Canada (First Place)
Congratulations to these three students and to everyone who entered - you're all winners in our book!
