Update for April 2022: we are trying to keep track of the conferences that have been cancelled, postponed, or gone virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but as you might expect things change rapidly.  When in doubt, contact the conference organizers through the listed web sites.

Below  you'll find a list of the major conferences and symposia in the microwave and related industries.

ATTENTION EVENT ORGANIZERS! If you are organizing an event that is relevant to microwave engineers, please email us a note and we'll add it to this calendar.

UPCOMING EVENTS

AUGUST 2022

IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, Signal & Power Integrity (EMC +SIPI), August 1 -5, Spokane, Washington, USA

This is an in-person event.

Special topic areas for the symposium include Automotive, Intentional EMI and Cybersecurity, Wireless (co-site EMI, 5G), Robotics, and Model Based Engineering. And of course, they'll have  technical sessions, interactive workshops/tutorials, standards sessions, experiments and demonstrations, technical exhibition, as well as social events.

SEPTEMBER 2022

European Solid-State Device Research Conference, European Solid-State Circuits Conference, 19-22 September 2022, Milan, Italy

The 2022 conference will be in person.

The aim of ESSCIRC and ESSDERC is to provide an annual European forum for the presentation and discussion of recent advances in solid-state devices and circuits.

ESSDIRC/ESSCIRC 2022

European Microwave Week 2022, September 25 -30, 2022,  Milan, Italy

To be held as an in-person event .

The best boondoggle is of course EuMW. Get your passport ready, and get away from Starbucks, TGI Friday's, Chipotle, Comfort Inn and all the other crap venues in the New World wasteland! EuMW is actually four conferences on different microwave topics, including wireless, radar, and integrated circuits.  The 2021 event got postponed to April of 2022, but they are also hosting an official 2022 event in September 2022.

European Microwave Week 2022

OCTOBER 2022

EDICON, Wednesdays in October 2022, online

The Electronic Design Innovation Conference and Exhibition (EDI CON), in conjunction with Microwave Journal (MWJ) and Signal Integrity Journal (SIJ), it will host EDI CON ONLINE, an online, interactive event for high frequency and high speed design engineers on Wednesdays in August, 2022.  The interactive technical sessions will occur at no cost to attendees, and sponsors will have the opportunity to present workshops and keynote sessions as part of the daily schedule.

EDI CON ONLINE

IEEE BiCMOS and Compound Semiconductor Integrated Circuits and Technology Symposium (BCICTS),
16 - 19 October 2022, Phoenix, Arizona, USA

This conference will be held as a live event in 2022.

Starting in 2018, the IEEE Bipolar and BiCMOS Circuits and Technology Meeting (BCTM) and the IEEE Compound Semiconductor Integrated Circuit Symposium (CSICS) have merged under a new name: IEEE BiCMOS and Compound Semiconductor Integrated Circuits and Technology Symposium (BCICTS) pronounced “Be-Six.” That's a lot of initials, but the important thing to know is that this is a personal favorite of Microwaves101's Unknown Editor, who had his real name appear on a paper at the 2013 conference. He's even been known to tweet during the event. The audience is truly international,  and because it draws people back each year most of the audience and chair people know each other (but are glad to welcome new attendees). Coverage includes all aspects of the technology: materials, device fabrication, device phenomena, TCAD modeling, compact modeling, integrated circuit design, testing, and system applications. A wide range of integrated circuit technologies are covered, including bipolar, BiCMOS, SiGe, GaAs, GaN, InP, SiC, and CMOS. The latest results in wireless, analog, RF, microwave, high-speed digital, mixed signal, opto-electronic, millimeter wave, and THz integrated circuits are embraced.

This may be the only IEEE symposium that never has to hire a band for its reception, thanks to multi-talented members.

IEEE BCICT Symposium

Association of Old Crows Convention, 25-27 October 2022, Washington DC, USA

For 2022 this is planned as an in-person event.

Old Crows are a group of people that are interested in electronic warfare. They hold many conferences on different topics throughout the year, but the main convention is in the Fall.

AOC Convention

NOVEMBER 2022

ARMMS Microwave conference, 7-8 November, Wyboston Lakes, Wyboston, England

To be held as an in-person event.

The Automated RF and Microwave Measurement Society has a conference twice a year in the U.K., once in April and once in November. Approximately 15 papers are presented over a two-day period. ARMMS provides past papers on their web site for downloading. From their web site:

The original aims of the society have expanded over the years as instrumentation has become more automated and we now cover diverse topics in Radio and Radar design and test, metrology, medical, materials testing etc.

ARMMS Microwave conference

Asia Pacific Microwave Conference, 29 November - 2 December, Yokohama, Japan

2022 is planned as an in-person event.

You'd be surprised at what you can learn at this conference, even if you only speak English. From their website: The fundamental concept of APMC2022 is "Challenges of microwave engineering for the super smart society in the new normal"

APMC

January 2023

IEEE Radio & Wireless Week, 22 - 25 January 2023, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

To be held as an in-person event.

The annual IEEE Radio Wireless Week consists of five co-located topical conferences:

  • RWS: IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium
  • PAWR: IEEE Topical Meeting on Power Amplifiers for Wireless and Radio Applications
  • SiRF: IEEE Topical Meeting on Silicon Monolithic Integrated Circuits in RF Systems
  • TWIOS: IEEE Topical Workshop on the Internet of Space (IoS)
  • WiSNet: IEEE Topical Meeting on Wireless Sensors and Sensor Networks

Rather than trying to keep track of five web sites, you can learn about all the conferences on Radio Wireless Week's web page.
